What Is ECO Funding?
The Energy Company Obligation or ECO is the name given to the UK Government's programme to make houses more energy efficient on a nationwide basis and aid towards fighting climate change.
CURRENT ECO SCHEME
The current ECO scheme ECO4, is scheduled to run until 31st March 2026 and is focused exclusively on lower-income households, including a wide range of benefits for eligible customers. ECO Funding can cover costly improvements that would not otherwise come under the Green Deal Grant, which states that the amount being saved must outweigh the cost of the works. Venture Energy Solutions main focus in recent months has been on loft insulation. However, There are four main improvements that ECO Funding is intended for:
- Boiler Grants
- Cavity Wall Insulation
- Loft Insulation
- Solid Wall Insulation (Internal/External)
- Solar
- Air Source Heat Pumps
HOW IT'S FUNDED
Improvements made through the ECO Funding scheme are paid for directly by the big energy suppliers. The government has told them that they must help improve the energy efficiency of disadvantaged households and hard-to-treat homes.
